Business booms for World Trade Centre Hull & Humber’s designer furniture provider

A new office furniture venture has won £250,000 worth of extra business as a result of a sponsorship deal with World Trade Centre Hull & Humber.

Design for Work, a division of Hull's longest established office supplier, the Meredith Group, was launched to meet the increasing demand from regional companies for design-led solutions to office installation and refurbishment requirements.

In its first major commission, Design for Work supplied in excess of £100,000 worth of quality office furniture to World Trade Centre Hull & Humber at Humber Quays, as part of the sponsorship deal.

Director, Don Meredith, said that the extra business, with a number of local high profile companies, had resulted directly from the installation at World Trade Centre Hull & Humber.

“The Humber Quays offices have benefited our new venture by effectively providing us with a showroom for our products within one of the region’s most prestigious office developments,” he said.

“We are very pleased to be named as a sponsor of World Trade Centre Hull & Humber. It represents a fantastic opportunity for businesses locally and regionally, and is benefiting Design for Work by producing ongoing enquiries.”

Founded in 1949 to service and repair office typewriters, the Meredith Group now encompasses a number of divisions covering general office supplies, stationery, janitorial and vending products, as well as an in-house manufacturing facility, producing traditional and bespoke products for supply to both the end-user as well as the trade.

Mr Meredith said that Design for Work was able to select a product range that exactly matched the brief from World Trade Centre Hull & Humber.

“The challenging requirements stipulated a high quality, contemporary feel, throughout all of the open plan office, hot desking, trade library and meeting rooms, as well as executive offices, business lounge, reception and conference areas.

"We are the sole area distributor of an innovative collection of furniture from the Italian manufacturer Della Valentina Office, and were able to complete the whole project with ranges specific to each area's requirements.”

Tony Howard, Chair of World Trade Centre Hull & Humber, said: “I would like to thank Design for Work for their contribution to creating an environment that is so much in keeping with our aims and aspirations.”
