Humber Renewable Process Industries Conference

Humber Chemical Focus & North Lincolnshire Council presented the Humber Renewable Process Industries Conference on 4th June 2008 during Humber Business Week at the Forest Pines Hotel, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire

The Humber host’s one of the UK’s largest concentrations of process and energy industries embracing such sectors as power generation, chemicals, petrochemical and fuel manufacturing, bio-energy as well as natural oil processing. Carbon provides the back-bone element to all these major sectors.

The Humber imports, processes and distributes over 40 million tonnes of carbon based feed-stocks derived from coal, oil, gas and natural sources. The growing use of carbon based feed-stocks for natural and renewable sources of energy, chemicals and transport fuels sector is bringing new challenges and opportunities to the process industries and the regions.

The Humber is at the forefront of some of these challenges and the conference offered delegates the opportunity, as part of Humber Business Week, to hear about up-to-date trends and developments affecting business, investment and the region’s industrial and agricultural landscape.
