4th Hull & Humber Business Week
The region’s business event of the year was back for a fourth year, bigger and better than ever. There was a week-long series of events with the business community enjoying a non-stop onslaught of quality programming.
Our fourth year and we had two prominent speakers, each with their respective trademark no-nonsense talking which led to this year’s theme – the ‘F’ word. This year saw our highest-profile speakers to date, culminating in the illustrious motivational talent that is Sir Bob Geldof whipping the audience into a frenzy when he took to the stage exclusively in the city at the climax to the week’s high octane events: The Yorkshire International Business Convention.
Before then, naturally, we had a host of seminars, exhibitions, networking and business development opportunities aimed at small businesses, large companies, educators and public sector organisations.
This year KCFM – our very own Radio Biz Week – broadcasted live from all events. In another coup for Business Week 2008, super chef Gordon Ramsay donned his whites and cooked dinner for hundreds of leading business delegates at the Business Celebration Dinner before delivering a speech that inspired and turned the air blue in equal measure.
Business Week 2008 was dedicated to Jo Martin, joint managing director of protective clothing company Arco, who died in February. Jo was a true inspiration to everyone in the business community and a great supporter of Business Week.
